Welcome back Primary 4!
I hope your holidays have been nice and relaxing!
We have had a great first week back and are especially excited about our new topic Ancient Egypt. We started the topic by sharing what we already knew on the subject and coming up with some questions we would like answered. We wrote our questions down and built the pyramids with them!! If we manage to answer our question, the answer can be written under the flap!
Acrostic Poems
This week we have been writing acrostic poems with 'Halloween' as our topic word. We started by thinking of lots of words which made us think about Halloween, such as 'eerie,' 'trick-or-treat' and 'pumpkins. We then had to write the word 'Halloween' down the side of our page so that each line could start with a different letter of the word.
Once we had written our poems we practised our computing skills using Microsoft Word to type them up. We could demonstrate how to change the font style, size and some people managed to change the colour too!
Finally we printed out and cut around our poems, we gave them a coloured border and displayed them on the wall. The children organised the wall display all by themselves and added their own decorations!
Here are the finished articles; a lot of hard work went into them! Well done P4!! Have a Spook-tacular Halloween weekend!

P4's Term 1 Report
Hello All! We have had a very busy first term in primary 4 and
are now getting round to updating our blog. Keep an eye out for more
regular updates in term 2!
This week we were learning how to write a report, this had to include a
title, factual information, headings and a personal opinion. We decided to
reflect on what we have been learning about in term 1 using the subject areas
as our headings. Here is a compilation of some of the children’s reports. Enjoy!
I hope everyone has a lovely October break! :)
