Puppet Show!!

On Thursday we enjoyed a great treat. SPS was visited by Dave and his puppet theatre.

We enjoyed a show in the Hall which everyone found hilarious, and afterwards Dave held a workshop for every class.

P3 and Mrs Miller enjoyed practising with the puppets and after that we were directed by Dave in a puppet show of the famous story, "The Pied Piper of Hamlin".  Mrs Miller is terrified of rats but she managed to hold a finger puppet of a baby rat and was quite proud of herself.

The rest of us has great fun and learned about how to talk to the puppets and ask other puppets questions.  We learned how to make the puppets move so that they looked real. Some of us wish we had a puppet so that we could continue to practise being puppeteers!

Since David's visit we have discussed different types of puppets and Mrs Miller has brought in Spike.

We look forward to more learning about puppets and hope David visits us in SPS again!

First Week of Term!

P3 worked hard this week.

We started thinking about our new topic, "Living Things", and discussed what we wanted to learn together.  (We already have tadpoles and many of them are still alive and healthy!)

We learned about what Easter really means in the Christian calendar and discussed the story of the death and rebirth of Jesus according to the Christian Bible.

We enjoyed making Easter crafts.  We decorated eggs; we coloured Easter ornaments; and some of us TRIED to make giant Easter eggs using wool, balloons and LOTS of PVA glue.  We wouldn't say the latter was a success but it was fun and messy and we learned alot about how not to do it next time!

Here are some of our photos for you to look at.  We thought it was funny that everyone wanted to wear the Easter ornaments like earrings!
