Another active week

We have continued to work in groups to solve problems. All of our groups showed great teamwork.

We had to find out how we could fit different size squares and rectangles into a tray.

We used a number of different strategies to solve the problem.

We have worked individually and in pairs to work out our maths sums.

We love choosing our activities when we have finished our work.

We have been learning about polar animals as part of our topic.

While we did our research on polar animals we watched a BBC documentary on Polar bears, it was very informative.

We have used information books to gather information for our topic.

Our Meerkat reading group received a special present from Mrs Whitford for our excellent reading.

We have been using playdoh to practise our spelling.

We have all improved our spelling.

We made some great masks in activities.

Our Igloo

We had great fun building out class igloo for our cold lands part of our project.

We think our adult helpers had fun as well :-).
Add captionWe are having lots of fun playing in our igloo when our work is finished.

It has been the perfect roleplay area for the icy weather we have been having.

Hello to our new classroom

We have settled in well in our new classroom, we love all the space we now have.

We have done a lot of group work this week. We are working in groups here to put down ideas for our class bucketfiller story.

We worked so well as a group that we were one of two groups to help build our class igloo next week.

We now have a lot of space to work and play in.

We also worked well as a group and are helping to make the igloo. We worked as a team to create a pattern out of counters.

If we finish our work we get to draw on the whiteboards...

...and listen to stories at the listening station.

We have lots of room inside the classroom as well.

We have been working in groups to make two towers out of lego of different sizes, one larger than the other, and then we made a tower that was in the middle. We recorded our findings in our problem solving books.
